You may be able to retrieve data from the hard drive it depends on how badly it crashed. Sometime putting it in a plastic bag and into a freezer for a while can help things. Just connect the drive up to another PC and change the ownership of the files then you should be able to retrieve them. But as I said it depends on the state of the drive.

Well it's a shame you lost a theme AcidBrain because your themes are very popular here. Have you taken a look at GameEx Live? I see you "AcidBrain Vision" theme there quite alot.

I've never heard of the freezer trick....

It may also be possible to buy the exact same drive, and swap controllers. I recovered a drive that way once!

I never heard of the freezer trick either but I would be willing to try anything at that point I think.

Funny though, it's like the oposite of when my Xbox360 broke. When that broke I had to wrap in in towels and leave it run for 5 minutes to heat it up. Funy thing is, it worked but that is a whole other story in it's own.
