I've got virtuanes working and loading into full screen, but I can still see the viruanes explorer bar briefly. Is there any way to get rid of that?

Are there are cfgs around?

When loading or exiting? When do you see it? Shouldn't see it at all if you enter full screen on load and also exit it out using CTRL+X or ALT+F4. If using {ESC} to exit it will be seen briefly.

Hi. I'm exiting using the standard ESC key. I don't know of any other way of exiting back to GameEX without having to change all my button configs etc.

So if I use ESC I will always see that bar at the top? No way to get id of it? My snes and genesis emu's look great and I don't see anything other than the game.

Thanks.

Problem with this emulator is that {ESC} is mapped to show/hide the menu bar. Which is why it's seen briefly upon exit. Only way to handle this is with a script. So yes you will always see that bar on top unless you create a script to map {ESC} to CTRL+X. Or could always use another emulator for NES that doesn't have that issue.

Can you recommend another good nes emu that works really well and with gameex?

Thanks x

Well to totally hide the OS and to give the results you're after, I would recommend Mednafen. I'm sure there's others that show no trace of the OS as well but this one works well. Also to remap your {ESC} would also be an easy fix and something we can help you with if interested. ;)

Do you mean you can help me remap the ESC key on the VirtuaNES or do you mean this Mednafen emu?

Well, I had a little look at mednafen and it's way over my head. I'd like to stick to VirtuaNES please if that's ok

No problem! :P

Will get you going with a script later this evening when I get home. Unless one of our scripters is available to help ya out before then.

This doesn't work for me :( The screen goes black and then I get an error message. I managed to get into a game once, but I could still see the menu bar on exiting.

But, most of the time, the screen goes black, and I get an error.

What is the error message? This script shouldn't cause any errors as all it's doing is remaping the escape key to close to process. If not able to get into the game then the problem must lie within the settings of the emulator. Please give more details.

hi frequency. i'm on a different computer at the mo, but i remember the error as being "error 1" or something like that, with a red cross.

the emu worked fine when i removed the instruction to launch the exit program first.

Post your emulator config so I can have a look at the specifics of the executable. It having a different name is all I could see why it would error out.

Are you launching the exit script in the launch before section in GameEx's settings?

Here ya go! Sorry took so long. Haven't been home this weekend.

Point to script from the Also Launch section of GameEx's settings.

If so then that's probably why it's not working. I set it up to look for the emulator so that it can be used. If you're launching before it errors out cuz the emulator isn't running yet. Should be launching in the Also Launch section as mentioned above.

It's working brilliantly! I put it in the Launch Before instead of the Also Launch and thats why it didnt work.

Frequency, do you know of a way of fixing that "NES header illegal" issue (recently posted)? On a lot of games, this warning pops up and you have to click YES (or press Y). However, in gameex that's impossible and all that happens is I see a black screen. The games are playable but you have to click YES.

Have you come across this before?
