How do I play Capcom III games in mame?

your CHD files need to be in a folder in your rom directory

ex.

c:\mame\roms\sfiii\sfiii.chd

c:\mame\roms\ki\ki.chd

Or you can keep them in a different folder and have mame.ini or GameEx point to them. The most simple way is to take Brian's suggestion.

However, for maintenance purpose, it may be better to keep them seperate. GameEx does allow multiple paths for Mame, and that's how I have mine setup. Just food for thought, it depends on the individual....

I don't think that'sthe problem. When I select a Capcom III game, it says something about a CD and then a loading bar appears.

Thats normal.Wait it out. It takes 30 minutes or less.

You'll only have to do it once for each version.
