How can I change the key or keys I press to exit a game in Game Ex?

Thanks.

Joystick keys or keyboard keys?

For Joystick keys you can use an advanced config and for keyboard keys you could use a simple script to map what you want to send a universal key to exit all your emulators and then have the advanced config pass that key(s) to exit the emulator. Also can just have the script do it all for you as well.

I forget my current setup because I am not at home but it is a two key press, like 2 and r. Exits me out of the game and back into Game Ex. Say I want to make it a one key press, like the letter q or some other two button key press, what is the best way to go about this? This is not an option to just change it with in Game Ex?

I know I posted something about this before, going to try and dig up that post now.

GameEx can be set up to exit any emulator when you press escape. You can also map other keys to send escape via a script if you want (like joystick combinations). However, joystick mapping like this is typically unnecessary since GameEx can do this internally (if you don't have too many buttons anyway).

I remember we talked on the phone about this a long time ago. I'm pretty sure Brian or someone made you a script to handle it. Again if your controls are sent as keystrokes than a script is the way to go and if they are sent as joystick buttons then the advanced config is the way to go as bkenobi suggested.

All of them.

Currently when I press two keys, it exit out of any emulator I am in and back to the Game Ex dash board.

Isn't that what you want it to do?

It is but I want to change the value of those two keys, that is the problem. Where do I change those two keys to something other than what they currently are? I don't mean with in my CP either, I mean with in Game Ex.

For example... If I currently exit a games using a two button press, let's say a and b to go back into the Game Ex front end from any emulator, how can I change those two buttons from with in Game Ex to be something other than and b? Maybe I want them to be b & c or just plain c.

See what I am driving at?

Yes I got you but how in the world are you exiting now? How did you define those keys to exit? You said the script never worked so where did you set it up to do this?

I already wrote you a script if you want. You want "r" and "Numpad2" to exit your emulators right. Maybe have that combination to send {ESC}?

If I recall correctly and this was sometime ago, I used whatever the default was for x-arcade from with in Game Ex. I changed all the keys on my x-arcade controller except these two because of this reason. Honestly, I am really suprised this is not a simple option to change from with in the Game Ex settings menus.

At anyrate, yes please.

"r" and "Numpad2"

Thank You.
