problem with games listed

Ok, fixed that, just went through using category mode and used delete to set them to be filtered. Now my problem is that pacman isnt showing because i stupidly delted it from the do not filter these roms list and because it is classed as a clone it wont show. Can someone post the exact name I have to use to make sure its not filtered please?

Ok, so i have set it up so that it has to verify all roms and all that, which cleaned out alot of the games i removed the chd's for because i didnt want them in such as ddr and so on, but the problem is game ex is still showing things like light gun games, track ball games and driving games. I though that game ex could filter those out by selecting no for light and trackball but i realised afterwards that that only stops seperate lists from being made. So my question is, how would I go about filtering out light gun games, trackball games, driving games and basically any game that doesnt use a joystick and up to 6 buttons within game ex

yea i had a look at rom lister when i was trying to figure out how to do it and in the end wasnt happy with how it was sorting. What ive done works for me so yaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Thanks, will try that pacman filter now.

Anytime you change any of the options regarding mame roms, you have to "Update List" when it asks to make the changes.

new problem, soul calibur isnt showing. I have tried both Soul calibur and soulcalibur in the do not filter section and neither work. I made sure i added the ; after pacman but still it wont show. And yes, i remebered to update my game list this time Also, all files are there

Do they work in mame without Gameex? If they don't work, and you have the filter "Only working Games" set to "Yes", then they won't appear in the game list. For a full description on how to set the filters look here:

i have that filter on. I believe it works. i searched it in http://www.mameworld.net/maws/ and it doesnt say it doesnt, just says sound is imperfect.

The romnames for Soul Calibur are:

Soul Calibur (SOC11/VER.A2),soulclbd

Soul Calibur (SOC11/VER. "B"),soulclbc

Soul Calibur (SOC11/VER.C),soulclba

Soul Calibur (SOC13/VER. "B"),soulclbb

Soul Calibur (SOC14/VER.C),soulclbr

You have to use the romnames in the donot filter list. I.E. soulclbd

Depending on which version you want.

BTW: I got this from Romlister... I really would be happy to help you with it, it's one of the most useful programs that there is for working with mame roms!
