Assistance - GameEx appearance

Hi there -

I'm very new with GameEx, trying to get it set up to be easy to use for my family. I am trying to do something I think is fairly simple:

When GameEx loads, I only want it to display a picture of MAME32 (maybe an arcade game picture), a picture of SNES (I have the ZSNES emulator working), and a picture of Sega Genesis (I have this emu). I want the user to select one of these three pictures with the joystick, at which point it should list all of the games and their emumovies.

However, I cannot figure out how to customize the front page, with the exception of changing text. I don't want text - I just want 3 icons / pictures.

Can anyone help?

i had this problem in the beginning i must say the logo selection is not really user friendly yet...

just go to the advanced emulator setup (for zsnes eg) then look for the logo part.

the name in this box must match the logos you have in you logo folder under c:\program files\gameex\themes\[theme]\logo (i believe it is)

if it is nes.png then just enter nes in this box

i dont have gameex open right now so somebodey will probably hop in and help you out with more detailed infos

but this should give you an idea how to do it

btw if you want to change the name of mame (eg change this selection to display arcade instead of the word mame) be sure to change language to custom in the configuration utility (not setup wizard)

At this time, it's not possible, but I think Tom was hinting that it may be in the future.

It sounds like the user wants a interface like MA. The only thing at present I can suggest are makeing sure you have logos of the system and I believe they can be displayed as the backround. Id go through some user submitted themes.

Yup, I think another FE might be a better choice if he/she just wants the pictures. Making that exact configuration work in GameEx is not really possible.

Cool - thanks for the responses - I'll mess with it a bit - I bought emumovies FTP access, so that's my next thing to tackle! I'll just go with that for now and look for icons in the future!!
