GameEx 9.66 Always Ontop Feature

Sorry to keep making threads pretaining to the feature, last one I swear! Thank you for adding the feature, its great to know my voice is heard. I am having a problem though.

When running GameEx fullscreen on the secondary display, it only shows the beginning of it loading and the main menu goes black. However, if I run GameEx on my main display, this doesn't have the problem.

Do you see it if you kill the hideos.exe process?

No, it still stays black.

Do you have GameEx set to use your desktop resolution? (ie. "Don't Switch Resolution"?)

I changed the option "Run on secondary Monitor" to yes, and I can hear GameEx (Arcade Ambiance), but all I have is a black screen. Is there something else I need to do, or does this verify what you are saying?

I have it set to GameEx won't change resolution....

Hmm I am getting the same problem.

I just tried running on the secondary monitor and I get the loading screen then when GameEx loads the screen is black. I tried closing HideOS.exe an no difference. There is definately a problem, the log file doesn't say anything out of the ordinary. Both screens are running in the same resolution and color depth.

I hear the startup music, but moving the cursor does nothing and pressing escape to exit does nothing either. I have to close the process using Task Manager.

EDIT: Okay just switched back to use the primary monitor and GameEx is still black!

I didn't have any problem switching back, I have "Hide Desktop" set to NO.

I just downloaded the latest version to make sure and still not getting any screen anymore even running in windowed mode. I also tried setting the theme back to default and I have "Hide Desktop" set to no as well.

Hmm I'm going to try a reboot...

Okay rebooting helped. So I just ran another test for the secondary

- Tried running on the secondary. Can see the loading screen but black screen only when GameEx starts again. This time I could press ESC to exit though, didn't need Ctrl-Alt-Del

- Set it back to run on primary and it worked fine

So there still appears to be an issue running on secondary monitor for 3 people here.

Sorry, I have not had a chance to look at this yet. It works fine for me but I guess its because I am testing on Vista. I need to set up an XP system here to test, I will do as soon as I get a chance.

I have tried it both ways, Neither will get rid of the black screen. I can hear the ambience start up noises and if i cycle through the menu, it recognizes my selection changes.

For myself I believe i have my primary monitor set up at 1280x1024 and secondary 1024x768

Glad to know i'm not alone =D. Yes, running on primary works fine for me as well. Switched themes, using Default and Valhalla, same scenario.
