I'm trying to setup the N64 games and am having a problem setting up the gameex configuration. Can someone please post there configuration to see what I'm doing wrong or any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Which emulator are you trying to use? What happens when you try? Can you post your config?

GameEx comes set up for Project64, but I recommend turning Show Desktop to true. You need to set Project 64 to automatically start in full screen mode.

I am using Project64! I can get the games running in windows but see no games listed in GameEx. I'm sure it's something in my config file. I'm not computer literate to figure out what I'm doing wrong. This is what I've got in GameEx.

E:\Mame\Ninetendo64?

the default install path (working path) for PJ64 is C:\Program Files\Project64 1.6

and for your roms, whereever you put them, e.g. C:\ROMs\N64

set RomsInFolders=False

and put all roms in the root of that folder, not subfolders.

neither should be subdirs of MAME IMHO since theyre not related..

Thanks for the guidance! I have all the games loaded in GameEx now and have something in the config wrong. Jumps to windows dos and says:

Program Files\Project64 1.6>PAUSE

Press any key to continue

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Thanks alot for the tips! I am flailing on posting the response in the wrong box

Have one more little thing in the config file listed below. Thank again for the help!

set Debug=False to get rid of that pause.

but you must have all the paths 100% right for it to work

also in PJ64 config make it automatically go fullscreen

*once you have it working*, you can set ShowDesktop=False aswell

Thanks alot, got it working. Question: In Project64 there is a big list of the same games some work and some don't. Can I go in Project64 and delete the one's that don't work so I don't have 10 of the same games show on the GameEx list? I have to trial and error to find the one's that work in GameEx, in Project64 you can see that one's that work. Thanks alot for helping me out with my other problems :D

Hey!

I've been reading this thread for a few times now but I'm still having trouble.

I've got ZSNES working fine, but P64 doesn't go fullscreen.

I see all the ROMS in GameEx, then I click on one. P64 opens, but doesn't launch the rom.

In the settings I have selected the option : On loading a rom go to full screen

but it only shows me the program (with the list of ROMS, you know?)

help?

Great program BTW

Please post your config. Offhand, make sure there are NO quotes around the [ROMPath]\[ROMFile]. Most emulators expect them, Project64 does not work with them. As the fullscreen option indicates, it goes fullscreen after the ROM is loaded. If the command line is wrong, all you'll get is the windowed interface.

Also check out (and post if you still need help) the contents of C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA\runitgame.bat. That will show you the actual command line that GameEx is using to launch Project64.

If you want to remove games, just select the game in GameEx itself and hit the delete key. Note: this does not delete the actual rom.

If the delete key dont work your not using the latest version of GameEx. Go get it.

Thanks for your answer!!!!

I have Corrected the "doesn't start" problem. But now... it doesn't stop! I press Escape, and it goes back to gameex, but the rom doesn't stop. If I start another rom it starts on top.

Well I found a way, I was pressing esc in the other emulators. So I tried pressing Alt+f4 and it closed it.

Thanks for helping!

Esc *should* close the emulator out also, because MapKeys is turned On.

If you want to be able to use the ESC key (useful when configuring) turn MapKeys off.
