  • Just a minor release before I start work on the improved database support
  • For snap/video logos videos are now searched for before image files
  • Video logos are now supported for custom MAME list logos
  • By default the list of emulators will now be sorted alphabetically. This can be turned off in the advanced configuration
  • Due to the drastic change in currency exchange rates, the donation/registration price has been changed to US dollars from British pounds

Thanks Tom for implementing the new features, but one thing I notice is when I use my GameExisLoading.avi in place of the GameExisLoading.png when GameEx first starts up there is a long delay before it plays the video the screen is blank for almost a minute before the video plays is that suppose to be like that?

Im not sure, can you try not doing it the new way and setting it as a startup video, and seeing if you still get the long delay.

It all worked fine in my tests, so it could be a codec thing.

Where is the option to set it as a startup video as I don't see that in the advanced Config at all?

Yeah I did that but if I put the video in my C:\My Videos directory it will show the GameExisLoading.png then goto the GameExisLoading.avi. Where as if I put the GameExisLoading.avi where the png file is then it will not display the png file and just play the video.

What I am asking is do you still get the 1 minute delay that way?

Thanks for another update Tom! Btw I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the recent updates or not as they work fine outside of GameEx. But I can't seem to get any of the Neo-Geo roms to load. When trying to load them in GameEx it goes back to the menu. When trying to use MameUI in GameEx I get some weird error outside GameEx. But outside GameEx using MameUI the games laod up just fine. I've been trying to both Mame 128 (cmd line) and MameUI64 128 UI3 Any ideas? Thanks! :)

He's right I just tried my NeoGeo using WinKawaks and now it doesn't work keeps booting back to GameEx

Can you guys be a little more specific? Maybe post some configs? I just tried running Neo-Geo roms in GameEx and all is fine in this end. Is it certain games? All games? More info please! ;)

Before my config for NeoGeo games using WinKawaks was working with all games now when you select a game I noticed that WinKawaks says no rom loaded and boots back to GameEx.

Well for me I just fixed this by not using WinKawaks anymore and configured it to use MAME in a seperate folder so it's not mixed with my other MAME games.

So you had WinKawaks setup as an emulator to run your NeoGeo games and it doesn't run?

Yeah it wasn't working .... It was back in 9.63 (last time I checked), but I haven't tried it since upgrading to 9.65 until today and noticed it wasn't working. I didn't change anything in my config and all looked like it did back in 9.63, but that's ok since I just switched it over to MAME instead (As a seperate emulator for just my NeoGeo games) and all is working again. I really like MAME better personally anyways than WinKawaks .... that's just my preference. So all is good :)!!

I tried WinKawaks outside of GameEx and it works fine so I have no clue as too what happened.

Yeah we probably will! :D

Oh I can't really remember but it was under Advance Mame settings I changed a line in the Mame Options called -al or -ai something like that? I hope that helps. I wish I could remember :(

Sorry Tom not trying too :)

I just know it wasn't working and I didn't do anything at all in my config for it ... I just switched over to MAME instead of WinKawaks to tell you the truth as it works and I like MAME better anyways so I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you get more complaints that WinKawaks doesn't work for anyone else.

There were some changes regarding neogeo and mame in the last couple of versions... maybe they changed the roms, and Winkawaks hasn't caught up yet?

Yeah! I was also thinking about the neogeo changes in mame recently but when he said he used Winkawaks then that shouldn't have mattered. My Winkawaks works fine. The only other thing is that a setting might have been changed during the update.
