EMS Lightgun 2

Hey guys, my lightggun arrived!

and now i still need some help with the setup... i mounted the sensor bars left and right of the cab and it nlooks quite ok since my cab is black.

now my quesstion:

when i play bang i see the Target spot displayed on screen. how can i switch this permanently off? f1 switches it off for one session...

Simple...Use the Compiler HK built and compile a custom build of MAME using the hiscore patch listed in the thread. That patch does 3 main things:

1) Adds the hi score saving capability back into MAME that was removed a couple years ago.

2) Removes the nag screens that are displayed at the beginning of a game requiring you to press 'OK' to remove.

3) Turns cross hairs off by default. You can always turn them back on with F1.

thanks bk... the thing is I use mame plus and just removed the nag screen by editing the uncompiled files...

does anyone know in which file to look for to turn of cross hairs?

chriss: diff files are human readable so you can just open them up in Notepad

Yup, I was trying to compile 0.104 but since there's no diff files, I ended up manually editing the source. The cross hair thing is pretty tough isn't it?

anyway, I now got the digital leisure versions of lightgun laserdisk games like mad dog mccree.

when I start the exe it only displays in a window and I gotta press f to make it fullscreen. what do you guys think would be the easiest solution to let the game switch to fullscreen upon start?

do you know if these digital leisure exe supoort command line? i already tried -f which ddnt do anything...

If i use the "treat as one pc game" option to set up the game (then use the map keys function) it would clutter my main list of emulators with these games...or am i wrong here?

You can group single PC games together, but I think there must be a better way to do it. If nothing else, you could have an AHK wrapper that launches the game and hits 'f' for you. I suspect the Digital Leisure forums/FAQ might have an answer to this though.

another quick question... for psx games I only get the light gun to work with psx 1.13

when i select the guncon in epsxe the gun is not working.. any clues why?

I don't run any PSX games. Are you sure epsxe can use mouse input to position a shot on the screen?

i'm not 100% sure.... maybe i should switch to BYOC for this question ...

Possibly. I've seen other threads discussing epsxe here, so I know some people use it. You could also try asking at the epsxe message board though. That's where I would try first.

i now get it to work witht the mouse but not witht the lightgun, which is weird because the lightgun is overtaking mouse movements

i'll stay with psx 1.13 i think. it works great!

a freind came over and we tried to finish time crisis... which seems to be impossible! the game is awesome and i havent played it for at least 7 years!

hey chris have u got 2 ems topguns to work ok,

as mine are both broke,

and does it make a difference between topgun version 1 and 2 as i have the old ones

sorry, gerble, cant help you on this since i only have one

i bought the topgun II.

the differences between the two models are as follows:

i) EMS TopGun II supports Vista (32bit) while EMS TopGun does not.

ii) LED stands of EMS TopGun II and EMS TopGun are different, and not compatible with each other.

iii) hardware calibration procedures of EMS TopGun II is different from that of EMS TopGun.
