The easiest way is to remap the key within Call of Duty to another key or wheel scroll.

Do you have Map Keys turned on in the emulator config?

Turn OFF Map keys if it's on, this will map ESC and Back to close the game and return to game EX.

I had this problem for a sec till I changed that setting for my PC games section.

Then to Exit a game, I've setup my I-Pac controller to hit "Alt+F4" to exit PC games =)

Works like a charm.

If you are using an advanced config, there are options in the advanced config for exiting as well....

it is definatly to do with the advanced config,

as it is enabled and when i disable it ,

it doesnt exit on escape,

but then my joysticks dont work,

i have checked everything in the advanced config and all seems ok,

i,e

escape to exit = false

the only to things enabled are the first one wich enables the config

and the keys to gamepad

Please post the entire contents of the advanced config you're using so we can have a look.

Since it's Project64 (I was assuming it was a PC version of CoD)

Have you loaded up Project 64 outside of GameEX and hit escape? I know I have a version of Project64 thats configured to exit on ESC. That has nothing to do with GameEX

Joystick Mapping is Enabled (maybe the reason your joystick don't work):

JoymappingEnabled=True

change to:

JoymappingEnabled=False

There's other settings I would personally change too but not sure of your setup so hard to make a suggestion. What type of joystick you running?

its the pc version of call of duty i just use project 64 v2 to configure the keys to buttons feature,

if i turn off joymapping that means i cant move as the pc games are set that way,

i have a gamepad "usb"

and most of my pc games dont support the gamepads so i use this,

thanx for helping guys

Here is the Project 64 V6.ini from my Advanced config folders:

It has sections called [block Keys], and [KEYBOARDREMAP] that might be useful...

I also notice that MapEscape=True, and KeysToSendOnExit=%{F4}, so maybe you do want to map escape....

I'm not really sure, just throwing it out there...

look guys im begging now,

please help sort out this problem,,,,

ive just tried opening another emulator group to see if that would help,

i copied all of the pc games 2 config to the new emulator, disabled the old 1 and enabled the new,,,no success,

im tempted to reinstall gameex and start again,

but all those configs wasted, what should i backiup if i do go down that route,

thanx in advance as the replies i got was good but not the one

Is this still an issue?

It sounds like you are trying to use escape to exit the game and to change weapons. The problem is, GameEx won't know which you are trying to do, so it will just send Alt-F4 and quit your game when you hit escape. If you can remap escape to a different key in the game, then you can still have escape exit the game.
