loading problems

i have been using the save feature when playing mame, comes in handy when playing a long game that i dont have time to finish. anyway, it has been working fine, but recently it wont let me load newly saved games. i get an error like "unable to load game due to anonymous timers". i am using mame .114. thanks

This isn't really a GameEx related question. There are a lot of smart people here who might be able to help, but you might try other forums that deal with MAME directly in parallel. It's not that people won't help you here because it's not a GameEx question, it's just that you might find your answer from a forum where MAMEdevs hang out quicker...

Hey, it's no problem. I was merely trying to help you get things set up in the most timely fashion. I just think there might be a better forum for that specific question is all. We do have LOTS of MAME specific questions that get answered pretty quickly (sometimes quicker than the dedicated MAME forums), but I just don't know the answer to that one myself.

I used to have auto save enabled myself a while back, but then for some reason it just stopped working. I never looked into it enough to figure out why. I think I asked (or at least saw a thread asking about it) here, but there was never a resolution to my knowledge.
