Best emulator for Atari 800 games in GameEx?

What are the best atari 800 emulator to use with GameEx and what is the command line to auto run an .atr file?

The ones I've seen were Atari800WinPlus and Atari++ as well as MESS, but not sure on how to setup with GameEx?

figured it out after messing with AtariWinPlus .... haven't tried Atari++ yet too see if it's any better.

I find Atari800 works much nicer than AtariWinPlus. I wish it were a little more cab-friendly though, as the only options for emulating the joystick are using PC Joysticks or the numeric pad (with zero as fire).

Although poor control adjustments can be annoying, there is always a work around. If you use a game pad or a game pad encoder (GP-Wiz for example), then you can use XPadder to remap inputs to keystrokes. If you use a keyboard or a keyboard encoder (IPAC for example), then you can use an AHK script to remap key strokes to other keys or just edit your IPAC config if possible. Nothing is impossible!

To map keystrokes to gamepad I use Pinnacle Game Profiler. Haven't tried Atari++ yet as I need to read up on it's features, but I am using GameEx on my 47" Vizio and I don't have an Arcade Cabinet (Been asking for one for years on my X-mas list ... doesn't look like I'm going to get one thou ) I've been trying to find some good sites that have Atari 8-bit Computer box image scans so I can put them in my GameEx too make it look really nice. Anyone know of any as I just found only a few searchin thru google as there are tons of Atari games to find.

Atarimania has images for boxes and carts of many games. Check out the page for Caverns of Mars for example:

I love Caverns of Mars. I loved that it would actually play music from a cassette audio tape if inserted. I used to play that game while listening to Anthrax while I was in Junior high. I never understood why other Atari 8-bit games never took advantage of that feature -- Atari 8-bit could have had professional quality music long before CD roms came into popularity.

...and I can't stress enough that Atari800 works much much nicer than any of the other 8-bit emulators out there. And it plays very nicely with Gameex.

Just tried it ... on my LCD the screen looks blurry than AtariWinPlus does. Is there a way to change the resolution and add scan lines or anything like that? I didn't see a video option in Atari800 at all unless I'm not looking in the right place.
