Yes, DVD player DOES work.

Your video card may not be good enough, that could be why, It needs a newish card, might even need to be DirectX9 based.

Your probably pressing the escape key, and not the back control. Could that be why it is exiting or not exiting?

Edit: By the way, posts like that come close to pissing me off.

hay tom,

dont mean to piss anyone off, but my pc plays dvd fine.......

with full picture and sound

but if i use gameex dvd feature i get sound and no pic.

not meaning to piss u off tom, but i have been trying to get this going for 3 months now and i dont seem to get an answer that works. and anyone is going to get a bit fussed when you yourself tom tell me that powerdvd will defo work.

and powerdvd wont, it just zooms back to gameex.

anyway, hope you have noted the bug with jukebox visualize.

and also, what if i added powerdvd to the external programs list??

would that work better?

how do i get back to gameex from dvd if i do it that way.

cheers

I've not seen these posts from you last 3 months, youve probably spent an absolute maximum of about 10 hours trying to sort this and not 3 months. Ive spent at least 3 months in man hours developing GameEx, you dont see me fussing often when people like you post with a childish self expecting attitude?

What exectly is the bug in Jukebox visualise, if you press the back control it exits fine, no?

Read the docs page for the full keys.

I am sorry if DVD is not working for you, but if your not happy perhaps you should try another front end, or try to work with the sole developer of the application in an adult fashion to try and resolve the problem? I am sure his attitude would be much better if you take that approach. What do you think?

or you can set up your own DVD player. e.g. ZoomPlayer Pro, customized shortcuts to exit on ESC, and a config like this:

Enabled_3=True

Name_3=Play DVD (ZoomPlayer)

Path_3=C:\Program Files\Zoom Player

CMD_3=zplayer.exe /F /LOCKFS /DVD /PLAY /VOL:90

Snap_3=Daphne(2)

ShowDesktop_3=True

MapKeys_3=False

WaitBeforeKeys_3=

SendKeys_3=

that's just an example.. i know it doesnt solve the prob, just a suggestion ok (i did this for features, not because GameEx's didnt work)

no need what so ever for that.......

dont care if you spent 3 yrs in man hrs, so i think before i speak

but god man.......... no need

i also said that i dident mean it..... now u want blood?

and actually u shouldent assume, yes the program is cool

wont knock that but man, this is a forum............ you dident have to answer if you take offence to questions that you dont think are in your league of "good questions to ask " and in the exact tone you expect.

come on tom, it was just a question directed at the forum, and not you in person.

ive actually worked more than 10 hrs, as i have built this cab up from a scrap machine that was brought to me for repair by a friend......... i have had no trouble with it exept for the dvd, for which i have posted a few post asking about.

now for all said i am sorry, i will promise not to ask questions in this forum that do not aid in the development or that may cause offence to someone that may have to answer and feels it may offend them to have to stoop so low as to have to actually answer questions.

I shall also advise that you leave this open, just incse anyone else gets a bit fustrated and dares to post a question in an un-proper im a programmer with no life manner.

"im a programmer with no life manner." Really, new to me. I think I just believe in being productive. Note: I am letting this go completly. Its not about life manner its about respect for one an other. I don't want blood at all.

I was trying to help you help yourself, and was advising you and others that yourll get more technical based help if you use good english and non emotional posts, only because its easier to understand, more descriptive, and saves a lot of going back and forth. I was also the best one to answer your post IMO. Nobody knows how the DVD functions in GameEx work except yours truly.

As I said I'm letting it go. I suggest you do too. I dont want any more talk regarding our scrap. This project is supposed to be fun and I am actually a fun bloke, but I am also professional, as is this project. Dont think all this is not bloody hard work, and remember who pays the bills. I know it's easy to forget though.

Cheers.

Just a note to all, is there any demand for a flun/fluff forum just to goof off about GameEx, gaming, any old crap, say whatever you like, and not get me ranting at minus4 ;) ? All I am getting at is I dont want too much of that on this GameEx forum, but Ill happily setup something Like a GameEx Fun/Fluff forum or something. This would be the Serious Stuff Forum. with an aim to being more construcitve and productive (although not completly stiff :) ). What's everyone thoughts?

Ill post this in a new thread.
