What have I missed?!

I've been gone a while. Got a job, then got an XBOX360. Been way to busy with things and haven't had time to mess around with the ol' GameEx box for a while. I went to load it up the other day and it said I needed an update. (Big surprise, Tom was always making updates!). I wanna get back into thing again. I lost my job, and I have a lot of free time on my hands.

So what have I missed? Is there anything I should be checking out right away?

I had to re-register at my favorite ROM Torrents site (everybody probably knows it already) because they pruned me out. I'm gonna start downloading my roms again. I looked at the folders and they're out of date really bad. So I was wondering, what format should I get. I remember GoodMerge was kinda going out the door since they had EVERYTHING included, like bad dumps and hacks. I want to stay away from those. If my brain is still working, I want the "NoIntro" sets correct? Also, did I see something a while back that the intro video's and things were going to be stopped being made? And what about the work that was being done on the game information databases... was that ever completed?

Welcome back Han! Well depending on exactly how long you've been gone, it's hard to say what you've missed. Heck being gone in just a week, you can miss a lot. LOL. Best to just view the news at the GameEx site and see what you find new.

Well NoIntro is the way to go for clean roms. I usually use in this order for consoles, handhelds, and pc's:

1. No-Intro
   
2. GoodTools
   
3. TOSEC
   

Databases are still being worked on and are coming along nicely. Best to check the thread and see the process made by some of our respected members.

I'm sure someone else will have more to tell ya as they may know you more. .

Cool.. I thought NoIntro sounded right, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for that. I guess all I need to know now is the details about the intro videos, and I'll be set.
