Screen Resolutions

I notice theres options in the options and also the themes for different screen rez's.

Does changing those actually change the screen resolution when running the app?

My TV is widescreen and would like to use a widescreen res but my gfx card is a bit tempormental at keeping to that set ratio within the card/windows screen rez. So would be a big benefit if GameEx actually changed the systems rez if requested to.

Theres an option for GameEx to use the current system resolution, and not change resolution or you can use a set resolution and GameEx will change to it. If a resolution is specified in a theme.ini file this will override the resolution that is set, but the included themes dont use the setting to not switch res, so that wont be overriden.

yes i think that is what i was asking. So GameEX actually changes the rez itself then. Great.

So even if you select the 640x480 or 800x600 themes they will not change the rez (by default? Is there a flag in the theme.ini file to use to do this then?

The 640 and 800 themes do change the resolution. There is a setting in each of there theme.ini files that tells them to. You can modify the themes to change to a different resolution, or use any available setting to override GameEx main settings.

I had actually never seen the "Don't change resolution" setting 'til now. GameEx now looks even better! Superb.
