G'day,

First of all, what a beutiful front end. I've only just recently built my cab and went straight for Mala. After going through the whole steep learning curve of "arcade cabbing" I finally got comfortable enough where I ventured out further. GameEx is a revalation compared to the bare bones but functional Mala. However one thing is amiss that I cannot fully work out. How do I view the full contents of History.dat. Where is the Trivia, the Tips & Tricks, etc. ?

Based on what I can see in the Mame.mdb - that material has not been imported into the database. So the Q - is it doable using Gameex, or is there a 3rd party tool allowing the complete History data to be impoted?

Apologies if this has been covered but the search engine on this forums sux balls not linking to individual posts in the results. Trolling through 20 page threads is something I'm not yet willing to subject myself to.

Also, keeping position in list within the hierachy would be nice, it always resets to the top once you leave the particuar list. Let me know if possible.

Cheers,

Muz

G'day muzz, I take it your a fellow Aussie ;)

Anyway, I believe there is a limit to the data presented from the History.dat in GameEx. There is a 3rd party app called CPWizard (shameless plug) which will allow you to view the entire history.dat.

P.S Can I suggest you also sign up to aussiearcade.com.au :)

Hi headkaze. Yeap! using CPWizard already - works a treat. I took a photo of my panel, black & white'd the 2x6 buttons, created a neon glow image of one of the buttons for CPWizard to use as overlay - looks choice! And yeah, full history details available in there. Shame GameEx doesn't have it as part of the it's view tho, and Im curious as to why that may be.

And I'm also already signed up on Aussie arcade! Been to Joeys a couple of times for chassis and tubes too - great guy. I'll post the cab photos and details there sometime.

;:MERGED:. Wait a second! you're the Author of CPWizard. What an Amazing App - Well Done!

That doesn't seem to help... Google search will give all pages since the site is "www.gameex.info" and a forum search doesn't pop anything useful (that I can see anyway).

Here is my research:

I did a search on the forums for "squirrel", using the forum search, and Google site search.

I search using the forum button, and I get this result:

post-2333-1224053607_thumb.jpg

So I click on "are you missing posts", although I am just clicking at random, with no context.

If I use Google, I get this:

post-2333-1224053893_thumb.jpg

And I click on "Dream (night terror)" because I know that a post about squirrels eating concrete is more relevant than squirrel fishing. ;)

IMHO, Google is better...

In defense of the forum search, google still can't find "abracadabra" in the post I made yesterday, while the forum button does. I'm not sure if it hasn't been indexed yet, or if it's a cacheing thing... or something else.

Ahhh, I thought you meant use "gameex.info" as the search criteria in addition to "site:www.gameex.info". Doing that is useless since "gameex.info" is on every page of the forum...
