Does anyone know if there's a way to run the boot process in an arcade-friendly res? I know that ArcadeVGA can do it, but is there a software way?

The only option I can think of is that you have a card with two adapters, so you can set the PC to boot up using screen 1 (default) then run Soft15kHz (when Windows has loaded) on screen 2 and then enable screen 2 as GameEx starts.

This would leave you with a blank screen on your arcade monitor (harmless) until the correct resolution is loaded. What do you think? Wouldn't it be cool to have this (enable second screen on launch) as an option in Instant Sheller? Should be implementable, right?

Or is there an easier way?

I found my own solution (just a theory for now). I connect my J-Pac to the secondary adapter and as the computer boots, it doesn't send any video to it (I can set this in my BIOS). Then as windows starts up, I can use a Macro app to perform the following:

Turn on display 2.

Start GameEx.

When I turn the computer off, the second display *should* be(I haven't tested this yet) disabled once again. I guess AutoHotKey will do it.
