New versions fail to work

Either some component of 2.0 beta 1 is not uninstalling properly on your system, or 2.0 beta 1 is a way to consistently reproduce an unrelated issue.

Version 4 also worked fine on my 2.0 beta 1 system.

I upgraded the DLL's to Visual Studio 7. See if these are any better.

same thing. :(

looks like its my machine playing silly buggers. maybe a reinstall is an option.

i've just installed it on a mates 2003 sp1 server and it works ok (well gets further) but bombs out trying to accesss a bmp when it should be a png.

That last error is a bug in 5.07. I am upping 5.08 right now it fixes that.

dont suppose you could link me to a 4.x archive so that i can see what the latest version i can use until i can get round to completely splatting my server (prolly not at all soon)

The last version you could use should be 4.89, but I dont have it.

Here's the old DLL's and supporting library. You should be able to use the latest versions of GameEx with these, but MNG videos wont work.

Theres a GameEx binary also which I think is 4.80

One more thing to try first. Try deleting MCVCRT.dll from the GameEx directory.

let me know, I have a feeling that might do it, and be the reason for all those weird dependancies.

hmmmm been mixing and matching. (i've deffo used newer version than that and it worked) and it seems to work with the latest version using the dll's in your zip file.

is there anything that wont work properly (whats mng videos anyway?)
