Thanks for that :)

About a year later I begged my parents to get me a C64 due to the games on the MTX. Bet you got one of those too :)

Did actually try to code Track & Field and Joust on the Memotech, when I was about ten. Obviously didnt finish them. Come on was only ten :)

I did get the running working in Track & Field, and the collision detection and main player sprite done in Joust.

In my teenager days i coded on the C64 (the demo scene) it was a race who could push the c64 to the limit and when all

thought it was reached another dude pushed it further... I some of my old demoes :)

I used to code cracktro's and intros/demos for S-Xpress crew back in the day. Along with several games these are still on disks - god knows if they will be usable still. I must get a lead sorted out to transfer them to the pc..

I did a demo called "Opus" that had full screen multiplexed sprites that wobbled in a sine wave left/right that you could control with the joystick to make lots of nice patterns. Then after that was released, people started using that to scroll text up the screen as well within the sprites. Also did a DYCP that also did sine waves on the bitmap that was bouncing up and down. It was amazing what you could pull out of a machine running less than a mhz!

Just a few more Images.

What I may do is stick these all on a web site for all? I have a web page that I have not used as yet... Could use it to do just a gallery webpage to put them all in one place? Hmmmm.

Anyway, Here is an Apple IIe, a Magnavox Odyssey 400 & 500, and an Intellivision. Had to reduce the Intellivision and Apple a bit to stay within the 2meg limit on file sizes :(

Enjoy! ;)

And a sweet little Amiga 1000. What a day that was when the Amiga was released. I loved the design of the 1000, nicer than the 4000 and the 500's.

Also, here is my vote for the WORST named console/computer :- The Amstrad MEGA PC. It was neither strictly a pc (386sx when 486's were the rage) nor MEGA (for the same reasons). This had a little sliding flap on the front. Slide it one way and it is a PC (ahem!) and slide it the other and it is a megadrive. WOW!!! Needless to say that sales were not inspiring and the hardware (luckily) faded without a trace (well - apart from this picture).. :) (Up yours 'Sir' Alan Sugar  )

Sorry about the Grubbyness of the Amstrad photo, did my best to tidy it up.

I can do up my Odyssey 200 and Atari XE, all I can think of that I have left. Are you taking these pics on a blue sheet and snipping it out?

The odyssey 200 would be great (that would make 4 magnavox units :) ). I have an xe console (or did you mean the 130 or 65xe?)

The pictures still need to be cut out (yawn), but upped to show that the smaller stuff was done in a small portable studio worked by imps :). The white helps to reflect a bit of light to all sides.

I tried using the blue as a base - but this made it a nighmare to cut out...

Nice to see you were able to get some high res. pictures out of your collection. What a large collection of machines you have. Roughly how many do you have anyway? To be honest I have no idea what half the machines you talk about are. Very interesting though. I must have missed out on a lot in my childhood. Or maybe you just had a abnormal passion for everything related to gaming.

There are over 200 machines in total. When I will get the chance to go through the others - I don't know. But I will.

I started collecting them about 15-20 years ago, and it just keeps progressing. I tried to get machines that I used to use in my youth and also the machines that friends had. Things like the Odyssey I got purelly for historical reasons.

Trying to find A1 versions of the older machines can be tricky though.

If you want more stuff, make a list, and I will watch craigslist for you. I would be happy to do the legwork for free, and pickup stuff and ship, as long as you pay for the item, and shipping.

I'm sure your wife will agree that you don't have enough systems... :P

Funny enough - she supports my collecting.. Wierd!!!!!

You might be in line for what I want to do in my basement. A 70's/80's room. I eventually want to dedicate a corner area, about 8x10 (feet) in size, decorate it with that classic late 70's look and put my game consolse in it. I only have a VCS, a Coleco vision, and 3 Intellivsions (2 Mattel, 1 Sears), but I think it would look cool.

I see guys on the internet that have all these crazy shelf set-ups, and all kinds of modern looking things that simply don't look cool with a 2600 hooked up to it.

I want to go out to a Salvation Army store, and pick-up an old Zenith or RCA 19" TV, get a wood TV stand, get some shag rug (brown or green) and put wood paneling all over the walls. Then get one of those old tweed couches with the funny patterns on it, and a corner light setup, you know, kinda dark like it used to be.

This way, when I walk into the room... it's like a time-machine. That's the way to do it. ;)

Not forgetting 3 ducks on the wall and that picture of the 'crying boy' :)

I don't think the wife will let me get away with that :(

Would like to see how it looks if you ever get it done...

I'd go with the Orange and Yellow mixed shag.... I actually bought a house with this carpet in it once!

Don't forget to but the rake to keep it looking nice. :P

Oh yes.... the wife factor... did I mention it was a 'dream' room to have? Same here, it has to pass the House, then to Congress, back to the House to be vetoed by the President anyway.
