Hello,

I have a registered version of gameex. I'm running Windows Vista SP1, and when I try to run games from goodmerge sets, they get extracted to the temp folder, but the files that get extracted are 0kb in size, and there for, the emulator fails to load the files. Any help on this would be great, and I am running the latest version of gameex as of this date. Thanks in advance.

P.S.

The archive files are fine, and I have verified that with extracting them manualy, so I know it's not the archives themselfs.

What exactly is the issue your having? GameEx does create 0kb files as it initally just extracts the list of files for performance purposes. It only extracts the archive when you launch a game. So what you say above is normal.

If you give some more details about whats happening we can help further.

Well, all the extracted files are 0kb in size, even the game version I tried to launch from within the 7zip file, and the temp folder thats created is not being deleted as well. I'm trying to launch a game from my N64 goodmerge set v3.11. The problem is that all the files are extracted as 0kb, even the game I'm trying to launch from GameEx. Is there a verbose mode I can put it in to create a log file to show you whats happening durring the process?

So heres whats happening:

1. Browse through the game list, and find the game I want.

2. Go into the the goodmerge view that shows all the versions of the game.

3. Select the one I want to run, IE the latest US version.

4. Gameex goes through it's paccess like its extracting the data it needs.

5. Gameex minimizes, launches the emulator to play the game.

6. Emulator (Project64) says: "Attemp to load file failed" and this is because the file was not extracted fully, and the emulator is trying to load a 0kb sized rom file.

Try to look whats in the extracted folder, while Project 64 is still open, ie before returning to GameEx. When GameEx returns it will extract the "List" of the archive and again put the 0kb files there. Also take a look at runitgame.bat in the data folder. Post it here.

D:

CD "D:\My Emulatorz\Project64_1.7.0.49"

project64.exe D:\My Romz\Nintendo 64 (GoodN64 v3.11) [GoodMerged]\Unzipped7-Zip\Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.2) [!].z64

Well, the files are being extracted just fine while project64 is running. Above is a copy of whats in the bat file you requested. If I didn't know better, I'd say it's the way I've named the folders.

In your commmand project64.exe [rompath]/[romfile] try adding quotes eg... "[rompath]/[romfile]"
