CD "C:\Emulation\Emulators\Freedo"

freedo.exe file="D:\Emulation\Roms\Panasonic 3DO\Road Rash (1994)(Electronic Arts)(US)[!]\Road Rash (1994)(Electronic Arts)(US)[!].iso"

Loads the program but not the game, ideas?

I notice with Freedo even when I load the iso just using the emu by itself, I then have to start it. Is that what is missing here maybe?

No, it is needed to start the games. It sends keystrokes to start the game from the menus in the emulator, simulating what you have to type on a keyboard to do it yourself. Read the whole post that I quoted from Exo, in the link I posted earlier, follow the instructions, and it will work!

The nice thing about closemul is that you can run programs that don't use the command line, without having to script a wrapper.

Why use closemul if all this is possible in GameEx? Tom has already gone though the trouble of implementing this and IMO closemul is not needed in GameEx. Wrappers/Loaders are only needed when you need to do more than simple key presses for an emulator. I would use GameEx to do this instead of closemul. It just makes things cleaner. Again just my opinion.

Wow! Too bad you didn't reply to me when I asked the question "Is this still the best way to setup FreeDo?" months ago. ;)

Q - Just use the codes from this line in the closemul example that Exo gave:

Automation Steps="WAIT 1000,ALT+F,ENTER,FILE,ENTER,ALT+C,ENTER,ENTER,F4"

Put 1000 in "Wait Before Keys", and

for "Keys to Send", put ALT+F,ENTER,FILE,ENTER,ALT+C,ENTER,ENTER,F4

in your Gameex config

I'm not sure that commas are the right delimiters, maybe ; ?

Also, you may have to lookup the proper codes as described when you click on the ? button...

LOL. I figured you knew. You were a Guru before I was. :P

From the help section:

Keys To Send

Send key strokes specified to the application. SendKeys uses the Microsoft Send Keys command. For Example SendKeys="[ENTER]ABCDEFGH" Look here for how to specify keys such as ALT, CTRL, F1 and Enter. This can be useful for switching the emulator to full screen mode.

Link is broken but look at the file SendKeys.htm found in the CONFIG\EMULATORS directory of your GameEx install for reference.

fRequEnCy,

If you want to write a wrapper for this aswell I can test it. ;)

LMAO. I bet you can. Why don't I just create a wrapper for all your needs and setup your whole system? :P. If a wrapper is needed for an emulator then it will be created and posted at my wiki. Just have been busy with other projects so not ready for release quite yet.
