WinUAE Loader & Attract Mode

Hi!

As said in the title, i've set up the attract mode to play Amiga games

The problem is when attract mode skip an Amiga game, it doesn't really quit WInUAE in fact (it just return to Gameex and i hear the Amiga sound )

I've posted a similar problem with taking screenshot in Gameex with WinUAE Loader

I think it's the same problem

WinUAE Loader is already a wonderfull tool but it will be greater if these anoying problem should be resolved

PS : Perhaps an advanced config to kill some processes on exit can resolve it????

EDIT : Another question as i'm setting up WinUAE Loader for Gamex : Is it Possible to assign 2 keys to quit WINUAE Loader ( for example, i push both start 1 & 2 on my XArcade in gameex on others emulators to quit a game)???

for the x-arcade try to press p2 and coin 2 that should quit the emulator... if not I can send you a script that will exit all emulators with the same key combo.. the two bottom keys of p1

You could use an Advanced Config to kill WinUAE.exe. Since the attract mode is launching the loader it won't kill off WinUAE.exe unless it knows about it.

So in your Advanced Config have the following:

	Process1=WinUAE
	Process2=
	Process3=
	Process4=

it's programmed to exit any emulator after holding down the two bottom buttons of p1 for 3 secs (x-arcade standard layout)...

so key c and key 5

i don't find the uncompiled script... if you need it i can have a closer look

Ok i've tested your tricks :

@ headkaze : I've set up an advanced config with the base of "[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close).ini" file and changed the line process1 to WinUAE.exe but it's still running.......

Any other idea or am i mistaking something??

@chriss : I'm happy to see you script which is well done but the problem is that i don't have a classic X-arcade setup (i use mode 4 because some emulators can't handle Left-Alt or some special keys)

I'm not a programmer so can it be easy to compile your script changing the escape key ???( start 1 & 2 for me in my X-Arcadesetup)

Edit : I've the same problem with 3DO loader so perhaps it can resolve the 2 problems if i find the way to stop emulators when a loader is launched.....

which keyboard keys correspond to p1 + p2, is it still key 1 and key 2?

no, that was something else.... there is a thread with the original script that brian wrote for me, but i edited something since then (can't recall exactly)

the only thing is i didn't add something but deleted the ifwinactive zinc command to make it work for a general purpose.

i edited the script to make key 1 and 2 send the Escape command if pressed for 2 seconds. i hope this works since i can't try it out right now!

Now for your purpose the script could be changed to send alt + f4 instead of esc, but first try it out if it works for you!

Your script seems to be really good, i just have to modify the quit keys and i think it should work!! Nice!!

But for WinUAE Loader, is there any idea???

Does anyone use this emulator in attract mode??

Are they using another loader to play Amiga Games??

WinUAE Loader is the best for me, but as my cab is running about 20 hour a day in attract mode, it's quite annoying....

Did you see Headkaze's post #3 above? He wrote WinAUE loader, so I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about... If you need help with using an advanced config, just ask!

The advanced config should work. I think thoguh youd need to tell it to both close winuae and the loader. You also need to remove the .exe as it says in the remarks in the templace. Thats probably why its not working.

Closing both WinUAE & WinUAELoader in the advanced config works great now
