Dragon's Lair is playing, however the wrong version

I have the command line in Gameex set to play the 'Enhanced' version via setting it up and copying it from Daphne's command line. The enhanced version is the one that plays the Drawbridge and entry room scenes. It works fine when I use Daphne, but not out of GameEx. I looks like it's playing the original version which skips the Drawbridge scene.

When I set up Dargon's Lair in Gameex, it had a line for 'ROM' which is set to 'lair'.

Do I have to change that to something else?

Also... is there anyway to avoid the whole boot process in Dragon's Lair. I thought there was a -fastboot command you could add, but it doesn't work.

Use the rom DLE21, and set your framefile to start on frame 151.

i never played the advanced... will definately check this out! do you guys know why ythere are two versions? did the advanced version come out later or was that the original one?

I'm pretty sure there's more than 2 versions. I thought there was version 1.0, 2.0, and a couple sub versions in there as well. I don't do much with Daphne, but I recall there were several rom versions...

i was more curious why the entrance scene was left out in the one version, the one connected to the lair rom which seems to be the most popular one... still i could be wrong and the DLE21 was more played in arcade halls (with the entrance scene)

Although this doesn't say exactly why... it might help a little. This is from the Daphne website....

I have a problem with Dragon's Lair 2, seems like the frame files are all out of order when I play the game. Anyone got any suggestions for this?

It starts out ok when I play it but when I die I get some scene that makes no sence to what I am currently doing in the game...

It might be better to take this to the Daphne forum. Tred lightly though.... it kinda gets rough there at times. If you get DL2 working right in Daphne, you should be able to copy the run statement right from the command line box and drop it into the command line of Gameex. There is no difference. The only change I saw, was setting the correct ROM line in Gameex. I set that to the rom that I wanted, and DL is playing perfectly now.

Yeah, no I understand.

I am not even going to attempt to post there about this game.

I'll figure it out some how, its a frame file issue or I will just get a whole new version.
