Question about the Advanced MAME Settings

When I set the "Verify ROMS" option to "YES" what about the ROMS is being verified? Header info? Checksums? Something Else???

Verify if you have the roms.... This way it doesnt list games you dont have in your collection

It also does some sort of a check sum based on an algorithm in MAME. That way if you have an old version of a rom that doesn't work with the current version of MAME, it won't be listed (since it's not playable.
