Hi All,

I am currently running GameEx in an arcade cabinet. The monitor (as far as I can tell) can only display 640x480.

The problem I am getting is that certain emulators i.e. fusion, visualboyadvance and zsnes have stopped working properly with vsync on. They launch fine but there seems to be a delay with the controls. It is like the controls are being stored up and run through the emulator a few seconds after I press the buttons.

Does anyone know what it is I have done to change this because they were working before. Secondly does anyone know how to fix it ( without vsync i am getting some screen tearing).

Also is there a program out there that can test the resolutions that a monitor can run at. I can find no information about mine at all. Apart from that I think it was made in Italy.

I will try and post a few pics later. Even though it isnt 100% yet I am still very pleased with the results so far.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated

It is currently set to 640x480. I dont know of any safe way to test to see if it can handle any other res. The reason it is running at this settting is because the Naomi 2 is still inside it (Hi-res Naomi settings are 640x480). I also have a dreamcast plugged in too. Again this runs at the same res.

So I did the same for the P.C. It was working. But I seem to of changed a setting in the P.C. and now emulators running with vsync seem to have this problem. The only other thing I can think of is maybe it is the IPAC. But then again MAME works beautifully with it.

I am at a loss as to why it is happening. :blink:

I cant do this either. The P.C.. in the cabinet isnt connected to the internet. Windows just has it listed as default monitor and the res options are greyed out. I dont know if a windows update would help fix it or not, but I think I have found a solution to most of the problems.

I have noticed that Zsnes works fine with triple buffering instead of vsync (No control delay of screen tearing). BGB works well on it aswell instead of visualboyadvance (Gameboy emulation). I will carry on using fusion for the sega machines ( I dont think Meka and Gens are good enough replacements ).

Does anyone know if it is possible to have triple buffering switched on with fusion, if so this should solve the last of my problems.

Thanks again for your help.

O.K. I worked out what is wrong with Kega Fusion. Almost all of the possible video options have vanished? There are no scanline options, 2 of the TV mode settings are gone aswell as the fixed aspect and filtered options.

Does anyone know what would cause this to happen. My desktop P.C. and my arcade P.C. both have ATI cards with the latest drivers. The desktop P.C. shows all of the options.

I am clueless as to what has caused this

Any suggestions?

J.

EDIT: Fixed. I had somehow enabled the following 2 options in the .ini file. This is what caused all of the problems.

ForceCompatibleGFX=1

ForceFullScreen32=1

I zeroed both of them and now everything is running sweet. :lol:
