Hi all,

I'm new to GameEX. I like it so far.

I plan on using it to build an arcade cabinet.

Mame works great with it.

I'm also trying to setup project64 to be launched by GameEX and need some help.

I have a working installation of Project64.

When I try to laung project 64 from GameEX, I get a black screen, no game, and need to press ESC to exit.

Does anybody have a config file for project 64 they can share??

Mine looks like this:

[Emulator_1]

Enabled=True

StartPageName=Nintendo 64 Games

TitleText=N64

StartPageLogo=n64

RomFilter=*.zip

RomsInFolders=False

ROMPath=C:\Project64 1.6\roms64

SnapPath=

WorkingPath=C:\Project64 1.6

MapKeys=True

WaitBeforeKeys=

SendKeys=

ReplaceDash=True

ReplaceUnder=True

Capitals=True

RemoveBrackets=True

AlsoLaunch=

ShowDesktop=False

Debug=False

MapFile=

OLDatZip=

Command=Project64.exe [ROMPath]\[RomFile]

TitlePath=

BoxPath=

LaunchBefore=

LaunchAfter=

CartPath=

Is there anything obvious that I am missing?

I think you need to have ShowDesktop = true

I have this working , so when I get back on my machine (at work at present), I will check the config file and upload if necessary.

You can run Project64 with show desktop=false if you're using a DirectX video plugin. You will need to specify "Fullscreen after ROM load" in the Project64 options.

Always set "Showdesktop=True" until you've got the emulator working the way you want it. That way you can see what's going on and make changes to the emulator configs.

My config is:

Enabled=True
StartPageName=Nintendo 64 Games
TitleText=Nintendo 64 Games
StartPageLogo=n64
RomFilter=*.v64;*.zip;*.z64;*.rom
RomsInFolders=False
ROMPath=R:\Games\n64\roms
SnapPath=R:\Games\n64\snaps
WorkingPath=R:\Games\n64\Project64
MapKeys=True
WaitBeforeKeys=
SendKeys=
ReplaceDash=True
ReplaceUnder=True
Capitals=True
RemoveBrackets=True
AlsoLaunch=
ShowDesktop=False
Debug=False
MapFile=
OLDatZip=
Command=Project64.exe [ROMPath]\[RomFile]
TitlePath=
BoxPath=
LaunchBefore=
LaunchAfter=

eeeurggh thats v1.5, can't recommend that.

you can modify 1.6 in the same way, but the main problem is decompressing it, this is the main reason i havent offered a patcher to mody to exit on escape.. its ok to do yourself if you know what your doing but we dont want people distributing modified binaries really.. otherwise id recommend just using Gamex's MapKeys, it works ok.

I used mamewah before gameex; that's why I still have this modified one :)

I've tried the 1.6 already but I had some minor problems with it while running in a cab; but I will try to set it up again with the mapkeys.. didn't know you're behind the project64 ;)

(my head gets red of shame now .. :P )
