I finally got around to getting my control panel modeled with CPWizard (latest version), and I enabled the CPWizard integration via the GameEx MAME options. However, when I launch a game it takes a good 20-30 seconds for the control panel image to be displayed, which seems a bit excessive. Is this normal, or have a fudged something up? I enabled the "Run CPWizard on startup" option in GameEx thinking this would be the fastest option, but there aren't many other settings to look at. Are there options in CPWizard itself that I should be looking at as well? My system isn't a speed demon, bit it should be fast enough I would think (AMD XP2800+, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 6800GT).

Thanks in advance,

Dave

I have CPWizard running on my AMD XP 3000+ with less memory and when I launch a MAME game via GameEx, the CP displays much quicker than that. I don't display the CP before games, but it also pops up within a couple seconds when I pause.

Make sure you don't have "Dynamic Data Loading" turned on as that means the data is loaded for each game and can be a bit slower.

If you can't get it to display fast enough you might want to consider using the "Export Bezel" feature with the patch and just display the CP in Mame. It's actually a better way to go in my opinion if you only want to be able to view controls for a game.
