Need help with setting-up WinKawaks & Nebula.

Ok, here's the breakdown. I'm working on setting up various Emulators in GameEx out of curiosity and in the interest of having fun. So far I have Mame64, Zinc, Daphne, Raine, WinKawaks & Nebula. All are working great except WinKawaks & Nebula. The problem I'm having is that when I click on a game from the main game list of either WinKawaks or Nebula, I'm not presented with an option to play the game. The only things that are present in the menu of the selected game are the game name and an option to view the title. Nothing happens when I select the game name. So I'm unable to play any games for WinKawaks or Nebula through GameEx. Both Emulators play games with no probs outside of GameEx. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Turn off Zip/7-Zip/GoodMerge support as it is not needed for these emulators.

Yep, that was it. Thanks a million. GameEx rocks and so does the support here at this forum.

Thanks. :)

Update --> Now all I need to do is figure out how to get my Logitech Dual Action Game Pad to work in Nebula. Is there some way of getting my game pad to work or should I just use xpadder?

Thanks for everyone's patience.

I also have a Logitech Dual Action and It's working fine in Nebula. Open Nebula up (not in GameEx) and click on a game. You can then select controls and then map your keys. Now you can do it individually for each game or once you have it configured you could save as default which will make your keys global throughout all your games.

ok, thanks. I'll have to try it later, I have to go outside and get some stuff done, I haven't cut my grass in almost three weeks because of all the rain. I also have some weird stuff going on with WinKawaks. I'll have to get in to it later this evening. time to go crack a cold barley pop and shred some lawn. LoL :)

I'll probably "Bump" this thread later this evening when I have some new questions regarding the above.

Thanks

Bump...

Ok, I now have Nebula working inside & outside of GameEx how ever for some strange reason the top tool bar of Nebula keeps flickering like a neon light in full screen mode inside and outside of GameEx. Still trying to figure out WinKawaks.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try this for your commandline:

Nebula [Rom]

Instead of what you have here:

"Nebula.exe" [Rom] -fullscreen

What kind of problems you having with Winkawaks?

I tried your command line in Nebula and I still get the nebula tool bar flickering across the top of the screen in full screen mode. I'm having the exact same issue with WinKawaks inside and outside of GameEx & I'm not sure how to get my Logitech Dual Action Game Pad to work in WinKawaks. I got it to work ok in nebula.

Try setting ShowDesktop=False instead of True in GameEx

Also check your nebula.ini and see if you have GUIMode=0

Ok, I tried setting :Show Desktop=False and the problem persists. My Nebula ini shows

GUIMode=1

EnableCPS2Rasters=1

Should I change it to what you suggested above?

Thanks for your help & patience.

Yes set GUIMode to 0 instead of 1 and give that a try.

Ok, I set the GUIMode and EnableCPS2Rasters both to =0 and that solved the problem for Nebula. It actually changed the way Nebula looks etc, freakin' awesome! I'm gonna' check the WinKawaks ini for the same thing. I'm still not certain how to get my logitech Dual Action Game Pad to work with WinKawaks. i may have to resort to xpadder.

My EnableCPS2Rasters is set to 1 so might wanna leave that one alone. As far as setting your controls in Winkawaks, you need to first load a game and then set your controls. You can not set till a rom is loaded.

Will fix that and try what you suggested for WinKawaks controls.

Be back in a few minutes with results.

ok, I redownloaded Kawaks v1.59 and started from scratch and even from scratch in full screen mode without touching ANY default settings), I still get the Windows XP border flashing around the game in full screen mode. I tried looking in to the game-pad settings while a ROM is loaded and I'm STILL not really sure how to get my game-pad to work with WinKawaks. Could some PLEASE elaborate on that, much appreciated.

Thanks

The going MadMan....

So far I've burned my dinner to a blackened crisp twice by paying to much attention to this thread, arrrrrrh! I'm hungry!

Upload your WinKawaks.ini.

As for controls.

1. Load WinKawaks outside of GameEx.

2. Click File and select Load Game.

3. Select a game.

4. Click Game from the menu.

5. Redefine keys... Then select Redefine keys Player 1...

6. Now you'll see a joy setup and just double click on the button you wanna change and Push the button on your controller that you wanna use.

Ahhhh Change this setting to the following:

AutoStartGame=1

Yep, that fixed it, only games just start in window mode. If i select full screen in the settings of WinKawaks outside of GameEx will it work the same inside of GameEx?

Update --> finally having supper, will try it out in a minute & report back.

Yup. Your commandline should be as followed:

"WinKawaks.exe" [Rom] -fullscreen
