Help with control panel theme

Hello all

Im new to GameEX and everything about it, Today I started changing the control panel theme to my liking(I dont like CPwizard)

Strangely enough my result does'nt look anything like it should.

My buttons seem to be at all the wrong places, I placed in some screen shots of what I mean with the post.

I did have to add

version=2

And I have overwriten the control panel.jpg in my themes media folder

Before I could edit the theme in controlpanel.ini

Could anyone help me change my control panel to my liking? I added the JPG on how I want the CP to look, and how it looks in GameEX at the moment.

Did I FUBAR it beyond belief? I love GameEX and really would love to run just gameEX on the new cab...

To each their own as far as which CP viewer you use. There are a number to choose from (CP Viewer, Johnny5, CPWizard, GameEx built-in viewer, etc), so whichever you like is fine. I don't know why you wouldn't like CPWizard (it's easier to set up and much more powerful), but you may run into problems getting support for the built-in one. I don't know if it's really possible to modify it significantly. I played around with it way back, but gave up due to it's limitations. Pretty much any other CP viewer that you look at will be more powerful and easier to set up. If you are concerned with seamless integration into GameEx, then I highly recommend CPWizard over all other options (including the built-in viewer).

How can I show these panels during the loading? I already have the "panel" button

If you use the export feature, then you will have a bunch of png files (one for each panel) in a directory on your HDD. These can be viewed with a modified MAME exe (using the bezel mod that HK has on his site). You can also opt to display these as the CP instead of the image of the actual CP in GameEx. If you want to display the CP prior to playing the game like you can with the built-in viewer, you will need to have CPWizard running (which can be taken care of by GameEx). I personally opt to have CPWizard running all the time so if I change the controls, I don't have to go through and update CP images. Either way works though.
