Hey guys, as the title says, the game Mr. Driller for some reason opens up in MAME and not Zinc.

Other zinc games work correctly and open in zinc.

Also in the "Playstation" list under the mame category, most games are listed there, but not Mr. Driller.

The ones that are there, are also in the regular mame list, and open correctly regardless of where they are ran from.

Also, zinc runs Mr.Driller just fine when ran outside of GameEX.

In conclusion, Mr. Driller is listed, but runs in mame, not zinc. But only in GameEX.

Is there a simple solution to this?

Has anyone ran into this issue?

Thanks guys!

I was hoping I wasnt the only one having this issue!

It is a shame because it is the only game I installed zinc for!

Also, I looked in the mapping list for zinc, and it is listed in there!

It is almost like its listed in both Zinc and MAME, and MAME overrides the zinc listing?

Does anyone know of even just a quick and dirty way of getting it to load in zinc manually?

Maybe using zinc in the non-integrated form, like as a custom emulator?

Is there a way to get into the database and just change it to use zinc?

I am dying to get my cab back up and running, but this is one of those games that the cab will never be "finished" until it works :)

Of course you can! There's a guide here that shows how to set up zinc as an emulator. The alternative that you probably want to do instead is to just create a batch file with the command to run the game through zinc. Then, set that up as an application or an emulator and you should be good to go. If this is a common problem, then it means that Tom will probably have to fix it. I know there were some games he just added to the Model2 list, so it can be done...as long as he sees the thread.

TOM?! I think we need your help here...

Thanks for the reply!

I went ahead and set it up, and made a maplist file for it. Ultimately I decided to make it standalone for Mr. Driller, and not list the other games.

It works well because I can use the favorites list, but it would be even better if I could also get it to list with regular MAME games, and not only in the other "Emulated Games" list.

I'm sure this can be fixed in an update to Game Ex?

Hopefully it will. I was just going through the same process and updated list after setting zinc up in case I missed a step or something. Mr. Driller is the only reason I even set zinc up :)

Tom? Any chance you could fix this little niggle? I'd really rather have that great zinc integration rather than setting up another emulator.

Along the same lines (zinc related), susume uses an older CHD from the current mame version, is there a way to maybe specify a specific zinc rom directory while maintaining the integration? If not, it's not a big deal as I only use zinc for Mr. Driller but I thought I'd ask since it does kind of break the integration for that game.

Thanks!
