CP Wizard? How to work with Gameex?

Okay try going to Edit->Options->Mame turn off Use Overlay. Go to Options->General and turn off "Dynamic Data Loading". Also I would try setting ExitKey to something other than escape.

I'm not really sure what it could be actually. But I've noticed alot of the settings have been changed around. You might actually be better off deleting CPWizard.ini and starting again with the default settings.

While CPWizard should work with Mame32, you probably should be using standard Mame with GameEx anyway.

Yeah I'm beginning to think that. I'm quite a noob at this tbh.

Where can I go to learn how to change from Mame32 to normal Mame?

Either will work. MameUI is the same as mame except it gives it a user interface. Well you don't really need it since that's exactly what GameEx does and does it a lot better.

How do I make it so just the control panel pops up and not the menu?

Deselect all items in the options list other than "Display CP only". That should do it.
