Strange MAME error

Hi all, I just discovered a strange error in MAME under GameEx, because R-type won't load. If I load it outside GameEx everything is normal, but within GameEx, the screen goes black and returns to the menu.

I tried to reproduce this error with other MAME games, but all seem to work fine (including R-type II)

I included the logfile after trying to run R-type, maybe anyone can help?

Does it run via "Run Last Game.bat"? I'm guessing you have some kind of an error with your MAME command line that's keeping it from running.

When I run it from runlastgame.bat it also doesn't run. When I open cmd.exe and type:

C:\Emulation\Mame\Mame32.exe rtype -rompath D:\Emulation\Mame\roms

it also doesn't run.

I'm baffled why this romset refuses to run, when it wil run normally from mame32.exe

Any ideas are appreciated

Are you getting an error message at all when you run it from cmd.exe? Perhaps your rom does not match your Mame version?

Yeah, when it doesn't run, it should say why...that's the main reason to run it that way!
