Lite Version

I notice that there is now a Lite installation version. What does it and what doesn't it install? The Lite version take a while to install and it seems to install alot of files for just a game frontend. Is it installing any unneeded files?

The Lite verion does the same install, but turns off any non gaming features in GameEx such as the web browser and media player. This makes GameEx take a lot less memory when running, and automatically cofigures it for just games usage.

Sorry, no, I don't plan to do that because of the extra work involved.

I think a good deal of the files installed are themes anyway, which apply to both lite and full versions.

Thanks Rob, correct.

In terms of hard disk space used after the install over 90% are graphics for the themes. The Program files after the install are about 10MB. Themes about 130MB.

I see that the theme background and some of the graphics are bit maps, can different graphics formats be used or do we have to stick with bit maps?

Bitmaps only, at least at the moment.
