I had a system crash and I am rebuilding windows and gameex. I have everything working except for I cannot get any sound from a DVD or off of my hard drive through gameex. I am using Honestech dvd player and it works fine when playing it through it in windows. I have the setting set to use honestech in the gameex settings. Attached is my ini file. Any ideas?

Can you post your gameex.ini?

I put it as an attachment. Since it is really long, I figured it would take up too much space.

Also, it wouldn't let me upload an INI file so I made it a txt file. Let me know if you cannot read it for some reason and thanks for checking it out.

I downloaded FFDShow and now windows media player 11 plays video and sound when used on its own. Honestech does the same. Gameex is still muted and I am sure there must be something to this since I had it working before. How can I be sure that even though honestech is in my ini file as the decoder to use, that gameex is using it? A dialog box pops up and asks me if I would like to use FFDShow to play the vid, but if I select Yes, then nothing plays, if I select NO, then I get video without sound.

I still have not seen your INI... you can Zip and post it... You probably have some volume setting messed up

Edit: I see it at the top now.... If you grabbed FFDDSHOW then look at these settings

[DVD]

EnableDVD=True

Codec=0

DVDFFDSHOW=0

EnableDVDDisk=True

DVDPath=D:\videos;e:\

UseVMR9=False

Id try setting ffddshow to 1

I tried using FFDSHOW and that doesn't even play the video. I never had that and it used to work, so my next question is has the newer version of Gameex changed how this could work? I uninstalled FFDSHOW. It makes no sense that DVD's and videos play fine in both windows media player 11 and in honestech outside of gameex, but in gameex, the video works with no sound. Is there a sound setting for DVD's in gameex? I'm stumped...
