but dont you set config with 6 buttons? so why do i need a mode key?

The first generation sega game pads had 3 buttons A,B,C . Then 6 button games came out. A,B,C,X,Y,Z

The MODE button lets you toggle ABC to XYZ.

Hi, I still dont get it. Is this really needed? I have set my 6 buttons correctly so surely I dont need to be messing about with MODE do I? (lord I hope not)

The option is there because it was on the original 6 button pad but you'll not need so don't worry about it
