I have my GameEx set up for MAME and love it, I haven't worked on my cab in a while since I got it up (go figure). Now I'm ready to get back into programming some of the other emulators. Is there a step-by-step guide to get them set up? I go through the options but something always messes up and it isn't a fluid transition from GameEx to the emulator. If there is a particular program that is recommended for any system I'd love to know as well. :0)

I'm not sure how other people do it, but since you didn't get any responses I'll tell you how I set up an emulator.

  1. Lets say you want to setup "Colecovision"
  2. Run "Advanced Configuration", pick an empty emulator slot. At the top of the page is a option called "Import Emulator". From the drop down list, first find [Console] Colecovision, then select a config from the drop down list (Gameex has 3 options for "colecovision", (CoEm), (Meka), (Mess)) I do this first, because it shows me my options for emulators that are already configured for Gameex. Go ahead and import a config if you want, or you can do it later.
  3. Install the emulator that you want to use, and at least one game (rom, iso, whatever), and make sure that you can run the game in the emulator without running Gameex.
  4. Don't ask us where to find the games, we don't know, we are stupid like that. ;)
  5. Go back to Advanced Configuration, and if you didn't do it before, import the config that you want to use now.
  6. Change the paths to match yours.
  7. Start Gameex, and the Emulator will start up and run the first time every time! :P
  8. If it doesn't run, :o Try searching the forum for help.
  9. If you can't figure it out, feel free to ask for more help.
