I need a Mame Map file

Ok so i want to have a mame emulator with only neo-geo games on it to go with the rest of my emulators. Problem is when i set it all up, all i see in the game list is the rom names and not the game names. So either i need to make a mame map file " which i have no idea how to do" or if there already is one out there let me know please. Thanks!

Have you thought of using NeoMAME? I believe it only supports neogeo games.

Yea but in game ex it will still only show the rom names in the game selection list.

Thanks but ive already got that. Its great but does not do what i need. I need a mame map file not a data base that just has game descriptions.

You can also make your own. just look at an existing one to see the format.

Thanks but i had already read that and tryed it. It works kinda but some game names and roms dont match up... And how can i make one? I opened one up in notepad and it looked like a bunch of crazy code...

Its a simple text file using a pipe to seperate rom name from gameex name.

eg...

myromname | This is my rom name

SF2 | Street Fighter II

so on and so on

I've been using Winkawaks to setup Neo-Geo as seperate emulator I set it to freeplay and console instead of arcade. Of course I have Neo-Geo arcade games setup in the Mame list. Oh and welcome to GameEx
