Hi,

I have a couple questions. I just upgraded to 4.89 from version 4.07

1. Iâ??m using a hotrod SE and the "down" seems much more sensitive when scrolling through a game list. In 4.07 I had no problem, now I always way overshoot - especially when holing the button and â??tappingâ? down. Itâ??s almost like it pages down twice. Can this be adjusted?

2. Using Mame32 99u4, that disclaimer always pops up now. Does this in effect make the random game screensaver obsolete? No games will automatically start because that disclaimer keeps popping up.

Thanks for any suggestions, GameEx is without a doubt the best front-end ever.

In Regard to 1, do you have direct input turned on (input settings)?

I started out with direct input off, and then I turned it on. The same effect is occurring. When I press down on my joystick, it scrolls much faster then before. I did do a full un-install, installed the newest version again, same thing.

In regards to question 2, was that a dumb question?

Thanks for the help.

The MAME team removed the skip_disclaimer feature. Tom may find a workaround for it (maybe something like sendkeys'ing in an OK). The only other solution would be to download the source and remove the disclaimer yourself. The MAME team explicitly forbids distributing versions with those things disabled, so you probably won't find such a binary available.

You could also just use an older version of MAME. I'm using 0.96 and don't have any plans to upgrade until there's something new I really want.

Ah I see. Well I can't complane with free software :) Good idea, I might roll back to 0.96 too. Thanks!

I suspect this will just lead to more hacked version of MAME circulating the web, so I am not so sure it was a good idea of MAME Dev.

However, if someone was to tell me where I can download 0.96, Ill be happy to hos it on my site, unless I get complaints.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Tom.

Could you have GameEx simulate an O, K keypress after the game is launched?

Any ideas about the scrolling speed?

You could experiment with Vsync and sleep settings under Tweaks/Performance.

It may well be Gamex is now running a lot faster since you last upgraded. There were a lot of optimizations since 4.07.

Thanks.

Looks like the Vsync toggle fixed it! Thank you Tom!

Again, thank you for your responses and all your work on the best frontend.
