I have a few questions about getting the Sega Model 2 games running full speed in Nebula. The first is, what kind of specs would be recommended to run all the games at full speed? I have an Intel Celeron 2.8ghz with a gig of ram and an ATI 1600 Pro HDMI video card. Daytona USA runs at probably 98% full speed, as well as Manx TT. However, games like Wave Runner, Top Skater, and others are pretty choppy. Second, if I were to upgrade, what would be more important, a faster CPU or better video card? Any info would be great.

For the most part, emulators don't use the advanced features of video cards. As such, I would generally recommend upgrading the CPU. Also, make sure you have enough memory to load the rom (some of those newer ones are pretty big). I would suspect 1GB is plenty, but 2 wouldn't hurt.

Id recommed getting a pentium or athlon.

Celerons and durons etc just dont cut it.

Nebula has been optimised for multi-core CPU's now I believe, so you'd probably benefit from that. I had it running without a GPU (using integrated Intel GMA 945) on a 1.8ghz dual core (not Core DUO) at full speed. The low end ones are only about $50 or so.

One more question for you all regarding Model 2 games as well as Namco System 22 games. I'm using Nebula and Vivanonno in GameEX and both emulators require that the rom files are name a certain way, like Waverunn, Daytonx, Doa for Nebula and Rr1, Rv1, etc. for Vivanonno. Is there any way to have GameEX display the full game name while keeping the rom names the way required for the emus to work? You know, have the Rv1 show up on GameEX as Rave Racer?

If I remember right, you would have it refer to the game list database for model 2. Like how most games do... That's how it used to work anyway I think. All the gamre information was (or still is) stored in databases.

I think that's what .map files are for? You can point to the file in advanced configuration...If you browse for it, remove the extension, otherwise Gameex will see it as mapfile.map.map
