(off topic) what spyware virus removal software do u use

avg antivirus

spybot search and destroy

ccleaner (for removing buit up crap and fix registry)

i just feel i might be overlooking some better ones out there

what ones do u find works best (for windows)

I just use Avast!. It automatically updates the threat database and the main program as necessary. I don't surf the web on that machine other than to download drivers (rarely), so I'm not really concerned about it.

does that get rid of spyware as well as viruses

I use trend micro on my main pc.

When others call me with issues I use spyware doctor to clean thier pc.. (it works VERY well)

Then I remove it when its done as it slows the pc down to a crawl. Then I recommend they get thier own AV

On my gaming pc I have deep freeze installed and no matter what I do when I roebbot its back to normal.

I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, I use Adaware, and Easycleaner in addition to some of the items already mentioned.

i like avira antivir personal edition. it gives you a popup once a day with an advertisement, bu tits easy to get rid of it (just block avnotify.exe)

i guess kaspersky is better then antivir since it doesn't detect keygens and other cracks as viruses

I would just like to mention NOD32. I have been using this for around 4 years and have never had a virus or spyware infestation. It also takes up hardly any resources and updates itself sometimes 3 times a day!! It is also commertial, but worth EVERY penny.

I agree with this one. I use Esets software as well. I use Smart Security which based off of nod32 and includes spyware protection as well. Haven't had any problems while using it and agree with GreatFlash about resources. I use to use AVG and quickly switched after a recommendation from my good friend.

Alot of keygens have viruses and trojans....

Eset smart security (NOD32 +firewall) Almost no system footprint, regular updates and very reliable. I love it.

I like NOD32 too, I've tried so many different Anti-Virus software and it's the best one I've found.

Also if you have a file that you think is suspicious you can upload it to the Online malware scanner which will check the file in 20 different anti-virus programs.
