Help with PC Games

Ok, this isn't technically a GameEx-related issue but I need help and thought someone on the board might have a similar problem.

I have a Betson 27" Arcade/PC monitor (IMP - 27" DIGITAL MULTI SYNC RAW THRL) and it runs at a max resolution of 800x600. It works great and looks especially good with GameEx and pretty much all MAME but the problem I have is that when I try to run a windows game like Bejeweled 2, the screen goes black and a message appears on the screen (very briefly) that flashes. It says something about the refresh rate but it doesn't say that it can't display it, near as I can tell, it just displays the variable refresh rates the monitor can do. I have changed my resolution and refresh rate to every possible option and I can't get it to work! This is driving me nuts!!!

If anyone has the same monitor and doesn't have this problem, please let me know how you fixed it or if there is anything I can do!

See if bejewled has a config file where yo can specify the resolution. eg 800 x 600.. My guess is the game defaults to 1024x768 and your monitor cannot handle it.

Well this is odd. I checked the config file and it was set to 800 x 600 from the start. I can't figure out why this won't work!

Perhaps it's the default refresh rate that your monitor can't handle.

Try to force the refresh rate from your video driver or with powerstrip or any apps like this one

It could be the "Wait for sync" options in you games that causes troubles too

Try to disable it or force it by your video drivers
