I am looking to setup a simple interface to emulate SNES, N64 and NES...

I have been through the setup several times but it seems the download of the emulators downloads to c:\emulators and the import option uses c:\emulation and there are a bunch of paths there that I dont know where to get the content...

Can anyone advise what emulators to work with for the above systems?

And if so where to start with learning where to get the files that I need to make this work?

Thanks

SNES >> ZSNES

N64 >> Project64

NES >> Nestopia

The import is for reference only. You have to manually edit the paths to where your emulator and roms are.

Interesting thing too.. when setting up the emulator "logo" there is a message that says where the image must be (inside the current theme folder) and that most are already there.. in my theme folder there are no images?

There are no imports for nestopia? How do I know what to setup?

This is the command line to use for nestopia and then just point all folders to where they need to go.

Nestopia.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

They are in the icons folder found in the theme your using. Now the imported setups won't always point to the right name so you have to know the image name to use the correct one.

Frequency meant to say Logos folder.

Look in C:\Program files\Gameex\Themes\Your theme name\media\logos

How about launching in fullscreen? nestopia

I would say run Nestopia, Options>preferences put i tick next to "switch to fullscreen on startup"

I don't know why this isn't under options>video, so don't ask! :P

Awesome.. I love it..

Two more questions...

1. I will need some sort of mouse for this HTPC. Anyone know of anything that would suffice? It will be hooked to my tv so I will be on the couch and would like some sort of pointer like mouse or something.

2. I want some controller pads.. prefer wireless... any ideas for emulating NES, SNES and N64 Games?

This is a great product and great forum.

Thanks for your help.

Im having a problem with Nestopia. GameEx finds the games and all, but when I try to launch the rom Nestopia gets a "Unknown warning". And I think it sayd "File could not be found". I have the command line setup as you said above. What have I done wrong?

Can you run games in nestopia without going through Gameex?

If so then export your config. Use Advanced Configuration, got to your nestopia setup, and click export, then post the contents of the file. (just copy and paste it into your next post)

I used to have a problem with Nestopia like this, and I fixed it by changing some settings.

you could try going into the Options\preferences in nestopia and check only the following:

Autostart emulation

Switch to fullscreen on startup

Suppress pedantick warnings / remarks

Enable auto correction of faulty images

Hope this helps

The problem was I didnt have the "s in the Command Line. So its working fine now.

But now Im having problems with ZSNES. The gamelist doesnt load and GameEx shuts down, the problem seams to be "Cannot Find Offline List Dat File".

Yes I did and it worked, but now It doesnt work again and I havent changed any of its settings. When I try to load the gamelists for ZSNES and Gens, GameEx shuts down, and the error message says theres a DirectX error.

Try changing themes... If that doesn't work, post your Gameex.log

Now when you say it they stopped working when I changed theme so it probably that, thanks.
