Just a few questions if anyone would be so kind as to help...

1. How do I change the icon images and background images. (do they need to be a certain size?)

I know I probably have to edit a config file, but which one please? (and where in file)

2. Can you also run different config files via GameEx via the command line?

3. Where is the file within GameEx where the MAME Favourites list is kept please?

1. If you are talking about the logos that show up for each emulator etc., those are located in the C:\Program Files\Media\<theme> directory (as I recall). If you look at different themes, they have different logos, so you might want to try different ones and mix and match as you like.

2. Yes, you can run different configs. The info's in the FAQ.

Q: Are there any command line options for GameEx.exe

A: Yes, you can specify a different configuration file to use by using config=

eg. gameex.exe config="c:\program files\gameex\config\myconfig.ini"

-quick has the same affect as setting gameex to not play the startup video, intro animation and intro sound. e.g. C:\program files\gameex\gameex.exe -quick

-listupdate makes GameEx update the MAME game list then exit. e.g. gameex.exe -listupdate.

-dvd launches GameEx as a stand alone DVD player, and starts playing an inserted disc.

3. Favorites are in the data.mdb file in the C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA directory (as I recall). You can create your own favorites that are located in whatever directory you specify, but they are not the same as what I think you are asking about.
