trying to get virtualnes to work with gameex it works out side of gameex when i start in gameex the taskbar and start menu properties come up then i get a black screen then goes back to gameex

Hard for me to see your files from here, but is the C:\Emulators\VirtuaNES path right? or should it be C:\Emulators\VirtualNES?

Edit: I got in there after you Frequency...seems like I had it backwards! I knew something looked wrong.

LOL. :P Looked funny to me too. Downloaded it really quick to verify. Haven't used that emulator so had to make sure.

if you can't get it to work you can always try alternatives like fce ultra which works great for me

or try nestopia (i had problems with the setup though)

VirtualNes's executable is VirtuaNes.exe not VirtualNes.exe. Lose the "L" and see if that works.

Try not using a database, and see if that helps.

LOL. Great! Well I just verified with commandline and I got it to work just fine with:

VirtuaNes.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

I personally use Nestopia. But don't see why you can't use VirtuaNes if I have it working.

Mine looks like yours except not using the database. Also my roms are zipped but that shouldn't matter. Also I see your using the send keys as well. No need to do that. So delete everything in the send keys and and wait before keys section.

You're using the NES database. Just clear that entry. Can be found on the 3rd page of emulator setup in GameEx Setup Wizard.

Well you have to be doing something wrong. :P Hard for us to tell what you're doing on your end as we already covered all the needed things to do. I have it working just fine on my end. We need to go through a few things so just PM me.

2. On the commandline type cd c:\program files\gameex\data

3. Then type type runitgame.bat

Let's see the results of that. Everything you need to do exact is in bold.

When setting up GameEx, always run outside of GameEx first to make sure all is working correctly. And when we mention verify it's working out of GameEx first, we mean from commandline not windows.

I could be wrong (at least that's what my signature says), but I don't think you understood what Frequency meant. Go to the your configuration, where it says "Database" erase everthing in that field, so that it is blank.

Post your config as it is now, I'd like to see if you've been following along....

I think that you have your spaces wrong in this line:

Command=VirtuaNES.exe" [ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

it should be:

Command=VirtuaNES.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

with a space after VirtuaNES.exe, but not after the first quote here: "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

Sorry if I sound short sometimes, it's nothing personal, I just have to jump in and answer before my wife catches me! ;) Gotta go!
