Dublin London
I've been trying to get the DVD playback working, but haven't been able to. In the config, I have nothing to enter in the DVD MPEG 2 Codec. I can play DVDs fine on this HTPC with Nero Showtime. Is there anyway to get Game Ex to launch that to play DVDs? If not, what product would you folks out there recommend? I've got a 5.1 surround sound connected and I'm playing it through a 1080p TV. Running Windows XP 32 bit and just have a reg DVD (no blue ray). I also installed FFDSHOW for whatever that's worth. headkaze
I can recommend the NVidia PureVideo Decoder but it's not free. If you bought a DVD drive most of the time you will get an application like PowerDVD with it. That also has the MPEG2 codec.
LB11
If you really want to use showtime, try setting it up as an external application. I dont believe there is a way to shange the default media player as of yet though, so you wont be able to select the normal "Play DVD" button and have it run showtime. Make sure FFDSHOW is disabled for mpeg2 playback.
iano
Or you could download MediaPortal and set it up as an external app. I really like that media player and i'm hoping that Tom have a look at it for inspiration for V3 Themes. It really is slick.
