Install Problem : Time out error

I have been getting errors during the install process. While diffrent packages are being downloaded I am getting URL time out errors.

Is anyone else having problems downloading themes or addons?

What speed connection have you got?

One way round it could be to uncheck the download options and install. You could always download them from the web site later?

If your wireless connection is fluky, you might have the download time out. I used to have this issue, and it would crash things. Tom fixed it so that if it times out it just kicks back to GameEx instead. You have 2 options really: 1) improve the connectivity of the machine via moving the antenna or hardwiring it to your network (assuming it's not an ISP problem); 2) as greatflash said, turn off automatic updates, manually download them, and manually install them. I personally opted for option (1) to fix my problems, but it depends on your setup.

I am not on a wireless connection. I really did not think it was on my end since I had a friend try lastnight and he had the same problem. I will mess around some more when I get home tonight.

Im all for having a laugh, but some people generally need help with GameEx, and I do see it as a professional product. Can I ask if you do want to goof off you try not to hijack threads to do it, at least not too often.
