When I enter or exit an emulator, I hear a usb disconnect/reconnect sound. What is causing this, and what can I do to stop it?

Could be a conflict with something, but you would need to provide more details if you expect resolution.

OTOH, if all you want is to stop the sound and you don't care why it's doing it, you can edit the hardware found sound in the control panel. Just change it to none.
