Maybe you said "yes" to "use advanced mame"?

I don't know if that disables mame or not...it seems like it would.

Otherwise, check your paths in "Mame options" (Especially the location of your mame.exe)

done did that and still no luck.. i even reloaded and jsut setup mame and still no luck.. it worked til i decided to disable the sub listings for mame and use flat menu

Do a compare of the GameEx.ini that you posted earlier with your current one. The difference will tell you what you did to fix it. Might be good to know for other people.

Definitely make a backup! I did for both cabs and have been VERY glad since I needed them already...
