instant sheller problem

Is there anyone out there that is using instant sheller to shell to their frontend

i tried it and everything works fine until i get into game ex

my intro movie plays sound but when i go into mame for example or any other system

some of the preview videos play with no sound and other do play sound at normal volume and

other videos play sound at a very low volume.

when i enter into a game some play sound some dont play any sound at all and yet other will plays some sound

again at very low volume.

its very weird i have tried everything

when i undo the instant sheller settings everything goes back to normal and the sound works fine

i am f... confused

any help would be appreciated

i am running integrated sound on an asus p5 deluxe board

core 2 duo 2.4

3 gig ram

on xp

nvdia geforce 8600gt

I took a look and didn't see anything immediately jumping out. I don't have GameEx on my work machine, so I would have to look later on. However, I don't have as much free time of late, so it would probably be better if someone else could check on this one...

Try removing "triple buffer" from the mame options (command line).

I tried removing triple buffering but it did nothing.

its weird because my preview movies have sound for some emulators and others dont

when i go into a system menu screen where it lists the games some play sound others dont

if the preview emuvideo doesnt have sound then if i choose to play a game it also doesnt have sound

if i remove the instant sheller and restart the sound works beautifully on every preview video for every system i

have emulators for.

i am using soundmax and have tried both the hd audio and ac97 configs and both do the same.

i have even tried diffent frontends to see if it is just game ex and they too have the exact same problem.

i had a startup video and it played sound for all front ends but when it entered the emulator menu screen

and i hightlighted a game the video would play but not the sound for everyone.

so i am thinking it has to do with a driver not being loaded or soundmax is f---ing it up. or a service

help!!!!

Can you get a diffrent soundcard? Just to see...

Also can you verify that the audio isnt just too quiet? Some games like KI and MK are very quiet and need the audio adjusted to hear the best.

Other than that verify your driever are up to date. Google so see if other are having similar issues using the same sound card.

At worst comes to worst.. Format and reinstall windows...

Honestly Id get a cheap sound card andd see if it helps... Most stores have a return policy and sound cards go from $15 on up... So its worth a shot

ill give it a shot. I know its not the volume because when i dont shell to the front end the sound is perfect.

its only when i use the instant sheller or edit the registry to shell to game ex that the sound does this.
